Smoothie Pops

A kid‑friendly frozen breakfast that sneaks fruit and leafy greens into a fun, portable format. Each pop combines yogurt (probiotics, calcium), fruit (fiber, vitamins), and greens (iron, folate, fiber); adding oats and seeds boosts fiber, protein, and healthy fats to help keep kids full through the morning

Why it works

  • Fun format increases willingness to eat fruits and vegetables.

  • Yogurt supplies probiotics and calcium for gut and bone support; oats and seeds add fiber, protein, and healthy fats for longer satiety.

  • Each pop counts as a full serving toward the five‑a‑day fruit and veggie goal!

Purple Layer — Blueberry • Cherry • Spinach (yields ~4 pops)

Ingredients

- 1 cup frozen blueberries

- 3/4 cup frozen cherries

- 1/2 banana

- 1 cup fresh baby spinach (packed)

- 1 cup milk (dairy or plant)

- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed

Pink Layer — Strawberry • Raspberry • Orange (yields ~4 pops)

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup frozen strawberries

- 1 cup frozen raspberries

- 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice

- 1 tbsp chia seeds

Yellow Layer — Mango • Pineapple • Coconut (yields ~4 pops)

Ingredients

- 1 cup frozen mango chunks

- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks

- 1/4 cup light coconut milk

- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

- 2 tbsp rolled oats

Instructions — Tie‑Dye Method (no freezing between layers)

1. Blend each layer separately until very smooth. Adjust liquid to reach a pourable but not watery texture.

2. Pour a few tablespoons of each color into the molds in alternating spots (yellow, red, purple), repeating until molds are nearly full. Aim for irregular pours rather than neat layers to create a swirled/tie‑dye effect.

3. Insert sticks and freeze 4+ hours or overnight until solid.

4. To unmold, run molds briefly under warm water and gently pull pops out.

Notes:

- Each single‑color recipe makes ~4 pops; all three combined yield ~12 pops.

- Layered option: if you prefer distinct stripes, pour each layer and freeze 20–30 minutes between pours until slightly set.

- For faster layering, chill blends in the fridge or shallow tray until slightly thickened.

- Store pops in an airtight container in the freezer up to 2 weeks.
